Weekend of FOOD.

This weekend was just PACKED with stuff.

Friday: Right after my afternoon class, I took the subway to Samsung (삼성), where I ate lunch with my uncle, then attended one of the art classes that he teaches.  I loved just sitting in on it, listening to the music playing in the background and watching his students draw... there was just something so relaxing about it. I got back pretty late to Yonsei, but went to a JjimJilBang (찜질방) in SinChon (신촌) with some of the Emmaus girls.  We snacked, we talked, we went in and out of the heated rooms, we slept (uncomfortably), and after about 9 hours there, we made our way to NoRyangJin Fish Market (노량진 수산시장) for lunch.  :)

Our pile of snacks at 1 am.  =____=
Arum, me, Mary chillin~

Saturday: After getting ready at the JjimJilBang, we took the subway to NorYangJin Fish Market, where we looked around trying to haggle our purchases.

Shellfish.

Fish

Haggling.

We ended up buying a plate of Hwae (회)  (more commonly known as sashimi) and random fish parts for 15,000 won, and a kilogram of scallop for 10,000 won.

We took our purchases and went to a restaurant where we enjoyed our Hwae as they grilled our scallops, and made MaeOonTang (매운탕), a spicy fish soup.

Our Hwae faces: Mary, I, and Tina are excited, but Arum (sadly) isn't.

Yum yum.

Wrapping our Hwae in fresh lettuce and radish with hot sauce.

Grilled scallopssss.

The food was deeeelish. We came back to Yonsei around 3 pm.. I took a well-needed hour nap before heading off to a prayer/praise night/meeting. :)  We walked home with the raindrops falling on our heads. :)

Sunday: Watched a little bit of Korea vs. Venezuela WBC game, went to church, then met up with relatives for dinner.

I'm tired.
My first exam is JUST around the corner. It's time to hit the books.
